This quilt top when together in about an hour. It doesn’t get much faster than that! It’s pinned and ready for quilting now.

I love doing baby quilts because I can try out new methods and patterns without much risk. For this one I am using the Ricochet and Away HST baby quilt tutorial. This is another great pattern that works up really quickly. I went from uncut fabric to the block layout in the space of a few hours.

I’m really pleased with my second mariner’s compass ever. It clearly takes practice so I have some finessing to learn but it’s so much nicer than I thought I’d be able to do so soon. One issue with these is the edges are a bit bulky to turn. I did a raw edge applique for this one. It’s all boxed up and ready to be mailed to it’s final destination.

Remember that class I took in September on the Mariner’s Compass? It’s time to find out if I can make one on my own! I chose a circle template the right size for the pillow I intend to use it for and then got busy drafting.

Clearly, Bolero is a quilt that can be assembled at light speed. It’s a nice sized quilt for laps or for babies to hang about on the floor with. Riley was extra helpful with the binding. Bolero is on it’s way to little man, I hope he’ll enjoy it!

When I said this baby quilt was fast, I wasn’t kidding! I’ve already got the top done and am nearly finished with a pieced backing for it.

This baby quilt kit I bought last fall goes together very quickly. I am already half done with the quilt top which is a good thing since the little mr. arrived a couple weeks early.

The Jacob’s Ladder quilt is done and dusted. I’m really pleased with the border and Riley obviously approves. I need to find a box for it and send it on it’s happy way. I hope it brings some small comfort to the intended recipient.
