The prompt is: This week, share your own interpretation of “edge.” Take a photo from an actual edge, like a balcony, a window, or a seaside bluff.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My choice for ‘Edge’ are pictures I took on Martha’s Vineyard at the Gay Head Lighthouse in the town of Aquinnah. Let me first say that I am afraid of heights but going inside this beautiful lighthouse was something I had always wanted to do so when the opportunity arose I mustered the courage and climbed to the top.
THE PROMPT:This week, show us a mirror. You can take this photo challenge literally, and find reflections in mirrors, or in the stillness of a natural body of water. Live in an urban area? Some skyscrapers are beautifully reflective of the cityscape around them. Or, use this challenge to take a photo of yourself in the mirror. Self-documentation is important, especially for those of us who are usually behind the lens.
The prompt: We frame what we see through our lens. And it tends to be a process, whether you use the golden ratio, the rule of thirds, or just aim for the right balance.
But what about how the world frames itself? Look at things a bit differently, find an alternative frame to the world around you and share what you see!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My choice for ‘frame’ is this picture I took on Martha’s Vineyard. The Tabernacle is one of my favorite places and I can never take enough pictures of it, however this is one of my favorites and it happened accidentally. Don’t a lot of them :) I was walking out of Trinity Methodist Church which is across from the Tabernacle and just snapped this shot as I approached the doorway. I love how it frames just a snippet of the Tabernacle.

The challenge this week is to share something fun.
Seeing the musical comedy ‘Something Rotten’ in NYC last January was definitely one of the most fun plays ever.. It WAS the funniest musical written in the past five centuries and it was fun, fun, fun.

This week, let’s keep things narrow (but not narrow-minded!): share a photo with your take on the theme.

Weekly prompt: The cherry on top. The icing on the cake. Or, as the straightforward folks at Oxford Dictionaries explain it, “a desirable feature perceived as the finishing touch to something that is already very good.”
Show us the detail that made a good experience a truly transcendent one — let’s celebrate the cherries on top!

This sign for ba-da bing cherries from New Jersey, although not icing on a cake, made my day by making me smile..:)

For this week’s challenge, try to look past the big picture and take a more intimate approach. Zoom in on details in unexpected places — it can be something from the natural world, or it can be human-made.

My daughter Deb is a knitter and one of the things she enjoys knitting are shawls. The patterns are so intricate and detailed, I am always in awe of how beautiful they are, and how talented she is

For this week’s challenge, take a moment to look up. Whether it’s the fan above your head at work, your bedroom ceiling, or the night sky, what do you see? Is it familiar? Or does it show you a new perspective on your surroundings?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love the architecture of New York City and even though I have many photos looking up at the tops of buildings I think this one of the Chrysler Building might be one of my favorites. I happen to look at just the right time as the sun was hitting the windows near the top of this beautiful art deco building.
