August 1st – welcome August… for me the biggest event in August is Illumination Night on Martha’s Vineyard
August 2nd – play… a ‘play’ on words with this picture of the play I saw in NYC in March.
Aug 3rd – start with “A”… the Auburn at a classic car show.

Prompt : Create an image that represents being “a face in the crowd.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This isn’t a face in the crowd, it is however, a crowd of faces.
I took this picture of the Phantom of the Opera poster outside the theatre in New York City in January 2016. It shows faces of performers through its then 28th year on Broadway. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in January of this year and in March I’ll be seeing it for the 3rd time.
New York City… pedestrians hurrying to get to a Broadway matinee…
…a couple stopping in Times Square to get engaged…
…or nonchalantly walking behind a big celebrity.
I’ve also enjoyed the pedestrian walkway at Walkway Over The Hudson in Poughkeepsie, New York, which is the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge.
The prompt is : This week, share your take on “dense” — you could focus on a natural landscape, or take the theme in a different direction, from a crowd at a rock concert or a busy avenue during rush hour to a fresh loaf of bread, waiting for someone to take the first bite.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was going to try and stay away from fog, trees, flowers, food, cities but you know what, that’s where all the density seems to be. So from boats in a dense fog, to a house covered in lilacs, to the skyline of New York City, to chocolate cake and candy, to the dense colors of freshly spun yarn, and to the density of a sunflower, , here are my choices.

Broadway’s longest running musical opened in 1988 and is still going strong.
I’ve seen it 3 times and would see it again and again.
This poster is on the front of the theatre and if you look closely can see it’s made up of all tiny photos.
Closer look …
Have you seen Phantom ?
